School Year 2018-2019

Another school year has begun. This is bittersweet as this is Sawyer's Kindergarten yet Dallas's last year. I want to soak in the time before Dallas transitions to independence.
Dallas continues to want to have a career in the military. The big decision he is faced with is whether he will enlist directly out of High school or attend an ROTC program in college and become an officer.
Brayden is in 9th grade and would like to go into some type of business and be a musician.
Providence is in 8th grade and wants to be a singer, missionary or musician.
Selah is in 6th grade and would like to be a violin teacher.
Sawyer is in Kindergarten and wants to become a fireman.
Addie is tagging along with Sawyer's schooling and wants to be a singer.
Extracurricular activities for the kids include:
Dallas-CAP, Color Guard, Youth Group, Mountain Biking Races, Working at our neighbors home
Brayden- CAP, Lightforce Choir, Piano and Guitar Lessons, CAP, Shine Boys Quartet and Choir
Providence-Lightforce Choir, Voice and Cello Lessons, Handbells, Orchestra, Gymnastics, Shine Co. Choir, teaching classes at Shine
Selah-Lightforce Choir, Handbells, Orchestra, Violin Lessons and possibly Gymnastics
Sawyer- Bible Study Fellowship with grandma
Addie- Bible Study Fellowship with grandma and possibly a dance combo class
All the kids will be involved in a ministry group called Encounter whose goal is to serve in our community.

Habitat for Humanity 5K

I decided, in January, to begin training for a 5K again. I honestly didn't know that I could do it because my knees had been bothering me alot and I hadn't done much cardio because of my heart. Well, I prayed regularly, did knee exercises and the Lord helped me. Dallas also ran in the 5K and came in 3rd place and if I remember correctly, 1st for his age category. The race was in March at Diamond Valley Lake. I was slow but it felt so good to run again. The kids ran in the 1K and had a great time.

Big Boy 5 Year Old Physical

Sawyer is at such a cute, independent stage. He will introduce himself and say, "Hi, I'm Sawyer and I am 5 years old."  Yesterday, he had his physical for Kindergarten. He was so brave and cooperative and relaxed. He got 2 shots and only said, "Owww!! I was so proud of him.

Get that Lump out of There!

We noticed a strange lump on Providence's neck a couple of months ago. It decided to grow a little so I took her to the Pediatrician who then referred her to General Surgery. All Health Professionals who palpated the lump think it's benign but it was also agreed that removing and biopsing it would be best. We went to Kaiser Ontario for the Outpatient procedure. She was awake for it and I was able to watch. The doctor thinks it is a lymph node or lipoma. I'm glad it's out and bring tested. Providence is sore but doing fine. The team of 3 that took care of her were excellent.

Brayden turns 15 years old!!!

Birthdays seem to come faster and faster for my kids. Brayden is a birthday lover. He had Hunter spend the night before his party. We had several families over to hang out, BBQ and play games. Brayden requested a Nintendo Switch for His gift. We are so grateful for the young man that Brayden is becoming.
