Day 4

We have enjoyed sleeping in and not being on a strict time schedule.  Friday we all went on a bike ride while enjoying  a scenic view of the lake.  Then at the advice of a friend, we got lunch at a local restaurant called  Griddles known for their burgers and french fries sauce.  At 4pm, we met our new friends, the Heywards  at Pine View Reservoir.  There, we had the wonderful opportunity to join the Heywards on their boat.  They brought us pizza, took us on tube rides and shared sweet fellowship with us.  We finished the day at FARRS icecream shop.  At 10pm, this place was still hopping with lots of customers.  What a great way to end our time in Utah.

Day 2 and 3

We have arrived at Willard Bay and thanks to some new friends, we have gotten the lowdown on what to do.  Last night, we went for a walk along the bay.  Today, we went to Chrystal Hot Springs, where we enjoyed different mineral pools and a waterslide.  Our new friends, the Heywards, joined us.

Day 1 : Family Vacation

We are on the road heading to Utah, Wyoming and Oregon.  We've gotten off to a rough start with a delay due to Jeep issues and the motorhome leaking Jack fluid.  We get to be reminded of it every 6 minutes as a 25 beep warning sound comes on.  It's been kind of comical.   We will be arriving in Beaver, Utah tonight. So far, the mechanical issue is not something that needs to be dealt with immediately.  It's 115 degrees in some areas that we've driven through.   Looking forward to a wonderful time with our family and exploring God's creation.

Moments!

Moments are what make up our lives.  Days are filled with joy, sorrow, exciting/ adventurous moments and dull/mundane moments.  I've heard all the cliches and say them myself.  "Time goes so fast!"  "The days are long but the years are short!"  I don't want to become a victim to lost time.  I want to really live with awareness and joy no matter what life brings.  Today, I paid attention to my kids and they made me proud.  Obviously, due to the sin nature, every day does not look like today.  However, due to my self-inflicted busyness, I miss some of the amazing things that they do.  Here is what I saw:  Brayden,  completely unaware that I could see him, gave his little brother a big hug.  Dallas, although feeling sick to his stomach, completed his morning chores with no complaints.  Selah, overhearing that Dallas was not feeling well, offered to do his kitchen and bathroom weekly chore.  Providence and Selah made lunch and Brayden made a smoothie.  Sawyer, when being tucked into bed for naps and bedtime does not want us to exit the room until he gets a hug, kiss, high five and knuckles.  Sawyer, when picking up Dallas, having not seen him for 2 weeks, jumped out of the van and ran to give him a big hug.  The other cadets thought it was sweet and so did Dallas. Providence frequently gives us massages for 20 min to an hour. I love my family and the life God has given me.  I do not want to miss being aware of  the blessings thst God has do graciously given to me.
