Dallas has joined the DEP with the Marines. Yesterday he was at MEPS in San Diego and by late afternoon, he swore in. We are proud of him but dealing with many mixed emotions. He will succeed wherever God calls him but we will surely miss him if he is far from home. He still has the possibility of ROTC at CBU so we will wait patiently to see what God has in store.

Josiah and Alyssa's Wedding
We took a road trip to Colorado so that we could attend my nephews wedding. Providence braved the trip with the wheelchair and crutches. It was wonderful to see many family members as well as be part of s God honoring wedding. On our drive home, we got to see some snow in Utah. Dallas stayed home so that he could attend the CMCA Homecoming Dance.

Knee Surgery for Providence
On September 28, Providence had knee surgery for an injury that happened in April. Her last CT Scan revealed that a bone fragment, attached to some cartilage, had broken off. She could occasionally feel the fragment get stuck within the knee joint. Surgery took close to 3 hours. The surgeon cleaned the area where the bone had broken off and then triple secured the bone back in place with darts, stitches and a fiber type of glue. Unfortunately, he could not do this arthroscopicly but had to cut into her knee. The anesthesiologist gave her a femoral block, which really helped with pain management during recovery. She is on non-weight bearing status for 6 weeks. She has handled the process beautifully!

Day 5 and 6
I didn't get many pictures but the boys went on another Jeep ride to Bald Mountain. Dallas got some experience driving the Jeep. The girls visited the historic museum at the campsite and hung out by the lake. I dropped my phone in 4 feet of water but thankfully it's still working. We hiked, ate S'mores and enjoyed our last day at Shaver. Day 6 was spent driving back home.
