Friday's are typically our "life skills day" with the kids. However, Jason is in Chicago, so my brother offered to take the boys metal detecting. As I worked on teaching Providence how to knit, the rain started. We love rain. We do not get it often, so we take advantage of it. The kids got filthy dirty but had such a great time. Last night, we got a major thunder storm. The southern California girl that I am, hid under the covers. I was sure the kids would be in my room reenacting the scene from The Sound of Music. However, they slept right through it and I sang,"These are a few of my favorite things" by myself. I could see the lightening even through closed blinds. Shhh, don't tell anyone that I am such a sissy.
