Brayden turned 13 years old while we were traveling. He got several birthday wishes along the way but the most special was at the rehearsal dinner for David and Karen. About 50 people sang to him there. Brayden is loving and giving and has a special gift of making younger kids feel welcome in our home. We celebrated in our hotel room with icecream and gummy bears.
We had another LONG day of traveling. We spent 12 hours driving from Victor, Idaho to Bend, Oregon. The highlight was celebrating an early birthday dinner for Brayden at Cracker Barrel. We stayed at Bend/Sisters Garden RV resort. Day 10 was spent playing miniature golf, catching up on laundry and going to the Deschutes County Fair and Rodeo. Sawyer was busy during naptime getting into Brayden's birthday candy and poptarts. At least he used Brayden's toothbrush to clean his ears and teeth.
We left Utah and are in Idaho. The highlights of the last three days have been: taking a ski lift at Targhee Ski Resort to view the Tetons at Grand Teton National Park, attending the Bar J Chuckwagon Dinner and Show, eating Pinky G Pizza at a park in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. We are technically staying in Idaho but it is right near the Wyoming border. The boys have been able to do some mountain biking also.
We have enjoyed sleeping in and not being on a strict time schedule. Friday we all went on a bike ride while enjoying a scenic view of the lake. Then at the advice of a friend, we got lunch at a local restaurant called Griddles known for their burgers and french fries sauce. At 4pm, we met our new friends, the Heywards at Pine View Reservoir. There, we had the wonderful opportunity to join the Heywards on their boat. They brought us pizza, took us on tube rides and shared sweet fellowship with us. We finished the day at FARRS icecream shop. At 10pm, this place was still hopping with lots of customers. What a great way to end our time in Utah.
We have arrived at Willard Bay and thanks to some new friends, we have gotten the lowdown on what to do. Last night, we went for a walk along the bay. Today, we went to Chrystal Hot Springs, where we enjoyed different mineral pools and a waterslide. Our new friends, the Heywards, joined us.
