Uganda!

Jason left for Uganda this morning from LAX at 9:45am. He is going with 23 people from our church to share the gospel in prisons, huts, orphanages, and participate in planting a church. This opportunity will be life changing and I am looking forward to seeing how God uses Jason in a mighty way. Jason is preaching 2 times and sharing his testimony another. Please pray for him and the rest of the team. Travel time is 26 hours. He will be gone for 2 weeks. We are already missing him. Tonight the kids and I had a fancy dinner at home with our fine china and silverware. The kids wanted to decorate and set so many candles on the table that I thought the whole table might ignite. We had shrimp, mashed potatoes from our garden, smoothies and a nice backdrop of the American flag. We are trying to keep busy as Jason is being so very missed. (Poor grammer, I know.) Anyways, here are some pictures of our dinner.

Passion for adopting!

As Selah's third birthday is approaching, I can't help but think of her birth mother and the sacrifice she made in giving her up for adoption. I am so grateful for my daughter and can't imagine life without her. I believe God placed in my heart a passion for adoption at a very young age. My family traveled to Mexico with our church's youth group to put on a VBS. The poverty struck me at a very deep level and even then I wanted to bring one the kids home with us. Jason and I discussed the option of adoption before we were married and it is so amazing to see how God answered our requests by bringing our daughter from Guatamala. As we wait, yet again, for another child we ask that you pray for God's perfect timing. Bulgaria is moving slowly and this is a test of our patience. I have to remind myself often that God will work things out how and when He desires and why would I question Him. The video below is beautiful. Have you ever seen a house fly?

The big day arrived last Wednesday when my parents new home literally was lifted off the ground and set onto its permanent foundation. It has taken months for the house to be built at the Skyline factory. It is amazing how difficult the process has been to put a second unit onto our property. Permits, resistance from neighbors, soil issues, etc have made, what seemed like an easy idea, difficult. However, the home is here. This does not ensure that my parents will be moving in anytime soon. We still have alot of work to get our barns permitted. We are praying that it will go smoothly. The house itself will be ready in a month. Indoor flooring, the garage, wrap around porch, plumbing and other items need to be completed but the end product will be beautiful. The largest crane that I have ever seen, lifted each half of the house and rotated it into position. Everyone held their breath, hoping that nothing would be destroyed in the move.

She's Turning Five Years Old!

My precious Providence is turning five years old tomarrow. She is such a blessing in our lives. She is a girly-girl, loves to dress up, wear lip gloss, paint fingernails, play the violin and dance. She is such a helper around the house. She even potty trained Selah for me. We will be celebrating with friends and relatives this weekend. Tomarrow we are taking her to Mulligans. She wants pancakes for breakfast and McDonalds for lunch. Five years have passed so quickly. A funny thing happened in the middle of the night. (last night) I heard "Mary Poppin" type singing coming from the kitchen at 2:30am. I was somewhat delirious and went out to see what was going on. Well, Providence thought it was morning and was dressed in a beautiful dress and shoes and singing to our baby chicks. I said, "Providence, it is the middle of the night." She just replied, "Oh". She quietly obeyed me and put her pj's back on and then went back to sleep. Silly girl!

Crazy Nephews!

So, my nephews had their senior pictures taken. Before you chastise me for posting such pictures, you must know that my very own missionary parents took these pictures. They were taken in our back yard! Alot of construction is taking place here and a out-house is on the premises. We could not let that go to waste without some photo opportunities. My nephews are clothed, may not look as such, but they are. The bathtub was left by the previous owners.

Manners Banquet!

Dallas was able to participate in a manner's class at BCS for the last 6 weeks. He had to learn to set the table, pull out chairs for ladies, bow to his partner and eat using a utensil.( I've been working on that one for years. ) Anyways, they had to dress in suits, and be on their best behavior during the banquet. Madi, his best friend was his partner. This was good practice for their up and coming wedding in 12 years.
