Memorial Day Weekend

Selah's 9th Birthday!

This beautiful girl turned 9 today.  She woke up to chocolate muffins, and ended the day with chocolate cake.  The theme for her special day was American Girl.  She wanted a doll that looks like her and I believe that she was happy with her gift.  She named her, Evelin.  We celebrated with Grandma, Nana, Papa and Donna Fais.

We spent the weekend with an amazing young lady named Chrissy Baxter.  She spoke at a bible study that I've been facilitating on anxiety.  God had brought her through great sorrow and tragedy, ad she lost her husband in a hiking accident.  She was such a blessing to my family and the women at the study.

Mountain Biking with Daddy and Grandpa

The boys and Jason are enjoying their new mountain biking hobby.  Grandpa, who is amazingly fit also enjoys riding and spent the morning discovering new trails.  Thankfully, their encounter with a rattle snake, didn't result in any injury.

Mother's Day

Being a mother has made me much more appreciative of all that my own mother has done for me.  Apart from her relationship with God and my dad, we were her next priority.  She said no to many activities that would've taken away time spent with her family. I been blessed with a very loving mother.  I know many people did not grow up in nurturing homes and I am sad for them.  I am so thankful for my upbringing and the unconditional love of my mom.
I am also thankful that I get to be a mom to 6 amazing kids.  I can't imagine how different my like would be without them.  They bring me to my knees on a regular basis, seeking wisdom from the Lord.  They have enabled me to see my sinfulness and need for a Savior.  The joy that they have brought to my life is indescribable and I love them immensely.
Last but now least, God gave me an amazing mother-in-law, Jeanne, who has always made me feel part of the family.  She too, modeled Christ's love to her kids and continues to be very much a part of all their  lives. 
My kids have 2 involved, caring grandmas. 
Thank you Lord for such wonderful blessings!  We were able to spend the evening together, eating pizza, salad and icecream sundaes.  The kids enjoyed their cousins and we all enjoyed sweet fellowship.

Hot Air Balloon Ride

We had such a wonderful, peaceful time with our San Diego staff today.  We went on a Hot Air Balloon Ride and enjoyed seeing God's creation from a different perspective. Although I am a little afraid of heights, the slow speed and the gorgeous scenery put my mind at ease.

Potty Training

As you can see, Sawyer wants nothing to do with his big boy underwear.  He threw them out of his room.

Weekend Fun

We had the Vanderwende Family over for a BBQ on Friday night.  I have loved getting to know this family through Troy's construction work and the bible study I am doing at their church.  On Sunday, we went to the Hackley home for Timothy's birthday party. It was relaxing and easy as the little ones could play outside alot. Sawyer made us proud by blowing out the birthday candles.  There is never a dull moment with him.
