Disney Cruise 2015
Excitement was in the air as we boarded our ship that was heading to the Caribbean. After checking in we ate at Cabanas, the main buffet on the ship. The rest of the afternoon was spent exploring, swimming and going down the Aqueduct (waterslide). Our first dinner was held at the Royal Court where we were introduced to our waiters, Stefan and Silvana. At 8:30pm we watched the first show called Disney Celebration. The talent, special effects, and scenery was spectacular. Next, we watched a game show called How well do you know your family? The last event of the night was a late night showing of Tomorrowland in the theatre. What a great first day!
DAY 5: Jamaica
We didn't spend much time on shore in Jamaica. It was very windy and we didn't sign up for any tours. After a bit of shopping, we relaxed on the boat. It was Pirate Night so alot of the staff and vacationers were dressed up. An outdoor show by the pool included visits from Captain Hook. The main theatre event was the showing of the new movie, Inside Out. The evening concluded with fireworks off the deck but I was feeling dizzy from the rocking of the boat. Only Brayden and Jason watched the fireworks.
DAY 7: Castaway Cay (Disney's Private Island)
On our last day of the cruise we went to Castaway Cay. We had a great time snorkling, going on another waterslide, swimming, and eating at Cookies, an outdoor BBQ restaurant. Final goodbyes were said to our waiters and the last show captured the gift of memories made on the cruise. Truly, this has been a trip of a lifetime. We are so thankful for this time together and time to relax. Now we shall go back to reality. I can't wait to hug and kiss Sawyer and Addie.
DAY 6: At Sea
We slept in today. Morning included miniature golf, and solving a mystery about 101 Dalmatians using the interactive pictures on the walls. Enjoyed another afternoon comedy/magic show where Selah got picked to go on stage. Tonight's dinner at Animators Palette was our favorite. We each drew a picture on our placemat, the waiter collected them and the figures drawn were used on the TV screens as animated characters that danced to the music. Disney Magic was the name of the live show. Jogging and more movie watching concluded the day. There was a huge movie screen that was on the outdoor deck by the pool. Movies played all day and evening on this screen.
DAY 4: Grand Cayman Island
The highlight of the day was swimming with about 100 sting rays. The boat took us out to a sandbar where we could stand. Providence and Brayden kissed a sting ray. (8 years of good luck). Evening included dinner at The Royal Court, live show, running on deck with Dallas and a Kareoke.
DAY 3 Cozemel, Mexico
We woke up early so that we could tour the Mayan Ruins in Mexico. The weather was very hot and humid. After we visited the ruins we were taken to an authentic chocolate factory, then to a beach. The kids played on an inflated playground out in the ocean. We went back to the ship in the afternoon for more swimming and dinner at Enchanted Gardens. Another live Disney show was a great ending on day 3.
DAY 2
Our second day was spent at sea. We slept in, ate breakfast, then headed to the kids clubs. While the kids spent an hour at their age appropriate clubs, Jason and I read by a window overlooking the ocean. Afternoon activities included a magic/comedy show, swimming and relaxation. Dinner was held at Animators Palette. This restaurant was so cool. It had what looked to be framed Disney pictures but throughout the meal the pictures became screens that interacted with us or short Disney movies. Crush, from Nemo , talked to us personally. The live show for the evening was Aladdin. With all the eating, we knew we needed to exercise so Provi, Selah and I went jogging on the outdoor track.
